Happy day of birth William!

Wooo Hooo! It's been 1 year since that sunny Sunday April morning in Vienna when William came into our family and into the world.
Congrats Will ! Congrats to us parents for having come through the first year of many sleepless nights and days. Congrats Emma on having made room in your heart and life to share your parents and space with your little brother.

I'm afraid you'll have to wait until we are back in Vienna for pics of Will and the birthday cake as we are in Antalya and I don't have the necessary equipment with me to post a pic.

Happy Birthday William baby and happy Easter Monday everyone else!

happy and dreamy teaching us to chill

At the moment, Will is causing chaos and mess within a nano second as soon as I have my back turned - pulling out parts of the dryer, clothes from drawers, tissues from tissue boxes, pans and saucepans from cupboards and drawers. Even when we are face to face and we are having dinner he manages this quite well as you can see from the below pic, it looks like a war zone below his chair after dinner. ;-)

I have become quite zen with all this, knowing it is useless to tidy up right after him if I don't want to do it 20 times a day and even giving him a full basket of clean socks to sort through when I need a few minutes to make a call or brush my teeth.

I have a bit of a theory that Emma is teaching us the value of taking one's time or slowing down (she actually told Steph "Wir haben kein Stress" when he was badgering her to get ready for school the other morning - hilarious!) and Will is teaching us the value of letting go, letting the small stuff slide and enjoying the fun of the moment (as he is only interested in having fun). These are difficult lessons to learn for speedy, objective oriented, super-efficient/organized and stress prone parents. Hopefully they will continue to be good teachers and we will learn well.

Here I am!

Emma hiding

I think this is just too cute and hilarious.

On the way home, Emma and I sometimes play hide and seek - even if she often still asks me where to hide ;-) and she still thinks that if she cannot see me then I cannot see her. You've got to love that about childhood!

(Nearly) pics only - our fun week-end

We had a fun and sunny week-end; at the park, birthday party and cakes, walks, ice-cream, breakfast at the market, hide & seek, skype with family, making a velvet picture, making pizza, tickles, reading, singing and new sun-dresses!

One of those songs that makes me feel happy and full of energy

I love this song!

Here is the excerpt of Grey's Anatomy where I watched and heard it being sung by Sara Ramirez as Callie Torres

I love the melody, the words and most of all the wonderful energy on Sara Ramirez's face when she sings it. It makes it a lot more powerful in my opinion that when it is sung by Brandi Carlile who sings beautifully but who does not "Live" the song in the same way.

Below you can see (a wobbly film of) Sara Ramirez singing the song - not in Grey's Anatomy - and her face is still beautifully expressive.

It really makes me happy inside - what about you? Do you like it or do you find it cheesy?
