I love this song!
I love the melody, the words and most of all the wonderful energy on Sara Ramirez's face when she sings it. It makes it a lot more powerful in my opinion that when it is sung by Brandi Carlile who sings beautifully but who does not "Live" the song in the same way.
Below you can see (a wobbly film of) Sara Ramirez singing the song - not in Grey's Anatomy - and her face is still beautifully expressive.

Oh yes, I love this song as well and completely agree with your feeling that this version sung by Sara Ramirez is just amazing. I had goosebumps when I heard it.
